if you do just one thing tomorrow....

USE YOUR VOTE!

(Sorry for shouting, this is something that has mattered to me enormously ever since I was 14, or so, when my Guide Leader told us about the Suffragettes).

I was really heartened a couple of years ago. A couple of my students were discussing all the things one of them would be able to do after her 18th birthday the following week. They'd come up with a few things, but then asked me if I could think of anything else. Slightly hesitantly I pointed out that she would be allowed to vote - "OMG! That's the most important one, how could we have forgotten that?!" Yay teenagers!

(And I'm with you on the suffragettes. I always vote, even if it's to spoil my ballot paper.)

I've voted - I do it by post, in case I'm off knitting (like tonight)

I had a very scary history teacher who told us we must all use our votes (this was a girls' school) as women had died to get them for us. And I always have done, so scary history teacher was doing a good job!
